Blue Star Award Nominations

Starlight announced the Blue Star Award nominations, highlighting the best of the high school musical theater productions around the Kansas City metro this year. Lee's Summit North student Taylor Bell was selected to perform in the award show's ensemble cast. The following LSR7 students and productions received nominations:

Lee's Summit High School: The Pajama Game

  • Outstanding Ensemble, Tier II
  • Outstanding Orchestra, Tier II
  • Outstanding Performer in a Lead Role, Tier II: Mara Bannister as Babe

Lee's Summit North: Zombie Prom

  • Outstanding Hair & Makeup Design, Tier II
  • Outstanding Performer in a Lead Role, Tier II: Daniela Segura Conde as Toffee
  • Sophomore Rising Star Scholarship: Alex Gaughran

Lee's Summit West: Mean Girls - High School Version

  • Outstanding Lighting Design, Tier I
  • Outstanding Orchestra, Tier I
  • Outstanding Performer in a Featured Role, Tier I: Robert Dameron as Kevin G
  • Outstanding Performer in a Lead Role, Tier I: Cate Marshall as Regina George
  • Outstanding Performer in a Supporting Role, Tier I: Ben Bruner as Damian Hubbard

The Blue Star Awards Ceremony will take place at 7:30 p.m., next Thursday, May 16 at Starlight Theater.

 

School Nutrition Association

In addition to winning statewide recognition, Cedar Creek Elementary School's Sheena Boyd has been named Mountain Plains region Employee of the Year by the School Nutrition Association. The award recognizes the valuable contributions of nutrition services employees who exhibit commitment to their school and the students they serve.

LSR7 Bowling

Congratulations to all the LSR7 bowlers who took part in the Missouri State High School Bowling Championship. Lee's Summit West bowled a perfect game during the qualifying rounds. In the end, LSW came in 2nd place overall during the tournament. Lee's Summit High School came in 4th place. Lee's Summit North finished in 11th place. The following four LSR7 players were also named to the All Star teams:
